Authored imagery for outdoor and automotive brands.
Campaign-ready stills, motion, and visual direction grounded in real environments, material detail, and considered restraint.
Photography-led creative, grounded in real use.
Sandia Peak Studios builds visual direction from lived environments: open roads, changing weather, worn materials, working machines, and gear used with purpose. The work favors continuity over novelty, restraint over noise, and imagery that feels authored rather than assembled.

FAQ
Thoughtful answers to common questions.
Tools support the work. Taste leads it.
The core of the studio is photographic judgment: what to frame, what to remove, how light and material should feel, and when the image has said enough. Modern tools can support production, but they do not replace authorship.
The difference is not software. It is the decisions behind the image.
Brands often invest heavily in launches, then go visually quiet or inconsistent between those moments. Continuity keeps the brand recognizable, active, and credible year-round. It creates steadier trust and makes major campaigns land stronger when they arrive.
Authored imagery is built through judgment, not templates. It considers environment, light, materials, pacing, and what should be left out. The result feels intentional, grounded, and specific to the brand rather than interchangeable.
Field photography is valuable when products need to be seen where they actually belong — on the road, in weather, in terrain, in motion, or in real use. It creates credibility that studio-only imagery often cannot.
No. Sandia Peak Studios is a creative studio. We don’t manage ad accounts, funnels, or content calendars at scale.
The focus is photography-led visual direction and campaign-ready creative designed to integrate cleanly into your existing marketing system.
The retainer is an ongoing creative partnership designed to remove friction from content production. Each month follows a clear cadence—planning, creation, delivery, and refinement—so decisions stay focused and intentional.
Rather than reacting to trends or last-minute needs, the work compounds over time. Visual consistency improves, direction sharpens, and the brand stays ready across channels.
One-off projects optimize for output. Retainers optimize for direction.
The strongest work comes from familiarity with a brand’s materials, environment, and decision-making patterns. Ongoing partnerships allow the work to stay calm, consistent, and considered—rather than reactive.
- Brands that value design and visual consistency
- Teams that think in systems, not single posts
- Companies investing in long-term brand equity
- High-volume content farms
- Trend-chasing or reactive creative
- Unlimited revisions or push-button production requests
Restraint only works when both sides value it.
Fit matters. Alignment on taste, goals, and expectations is what allows the work to remain focused, considered, and effective.
Good creative doesn’t need to explain itself.
It just needs the right conditions to exist.
Built by people who live outside.
Sandia Peak Studios was built by a photographer, adventurer, and gear head with a deep respect for motion, craft, and environment.
The work is informed by time spent backpacking major U.S. trails, riding singletrack, chasing winter storms, fly fishing quiet water, and tuning machines where precision matters. There’s as much care for light, terrain, and weather as there is for a properly tuned engine.
That lived experience shapes how the studio approaches visual storytelling— practical, restrained, and grounded in how products are actually used.

What happens next
- We have a short fit call to align on direction.
- You share brand context, reference points, and product focus.
- I shape the first month of creative around a clear visual direction.
About fit: We’re selective about the projects we take on. Alignment on taste, goals, and visual direction is what allows the work to feel considered—not generic.
Best fit for: outdoor and automotive brands that need authored imagery, real-environment storytelling, and visual continuity across campaigns.
Not a fit: brands that need daily posting or unlimited revisions (we can scope that separately).
